And Kirsty working in hospitality since 16 and studying art history for 4 years always with the dream of running her own gallery.
Since joining forces we have travelled the world working and learning in the most amazing hotels and lodges with our final goal always to be to have our own place.
In 2008 we bought Glenview.
We rebranded her and became a 2 AA rosette restaurant with rooms – Simons flair in the kitchen was taken to the max and we enjoyed our success and achievements:
2008 Best Hotel in Food link Association awards
2009 Simon won runner up as Young Ambassador The Highland and Islands Tourism awards
2012 Best Restaurant in The Highland & Islands Tourism awards
We were reviewed by the New York Times: . . . the Glenview, a breath taking level of freshness and casual creativity.
And even had recipes printed in the top food magazine Saveur.
Working with fantastic staff and serving the most gracious and loyal guests we achieved more than we thought possible but…having also achieved 2 wee boys along the way we needed a new challenge that suited the 4 of us not just 2!
That brings us to now – Glenview Rooms, Skye Pie Café and Glenview Art Gallery . . . plenty to keep us busy but also so very excited! We hope those of you who have joined us on our journey so far stay with us and come and see the changes but also we can’t wait to meet the new customers and shake their hand with a pie!
