And Kirsty working in hospitality since 16 and studying art history for 4 years always with the dream of running her own gallery and wool shop.
Since joining forces we have travelled the world working and learning in the most amazing hotels and lodges with our final goal always to be to have our own place. In 2008 we bought Glenview.
We rebranded her and became a 2 AA rosette restaurant with rooms – Simons flair in the kitchen was taken to the max and we enjoyed our success and achievements:2008 Best Hotel in Food link Association awards
2009 Simon won runner up as Young Ambassador The Highland and Islands Tourism awards
2012 Best Restaurant in The Highland & Islands Tourism awardsWe were reviewed by the New York Times: . . . the Glenview, a breath taking level of freshness and casual creativity.
And even had Simons recipes published in the top food magazines Saveur and Delicious alongside articles in both Waitrose magazine and Coast.
Working with fantastic staff and serving the most gracious and loyal guests we achieved more than we thought possible but…having also achieved 2 wee boys along the way we needed a new challenge that suited the 4 of us not just 2!
That brings us to now – We continue to run our busy little Bed and Breakfast The Glenview and our now starting a new adventures – Shilasdair Yarns and Earth & Skye Yoga. Don’t worry though we still sell Simons amazing pies available for pre-order.
. . . plenty to keep us busy but also so very excited! We hope those of you who have joined us on our journey so far stay with us and come and see the changes – enjoy our new wool shop and treat yourself to some time in the yoga studio.
